Parliament House will tomorrow fly the French national flag, the Tricolour, at half-mast with our flags as a mark of respect and to show our solidarity with the people of France and all those impacted by the Paris attacks.
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by such a tragic and senseless loss of innocent lives in Paris.
Tasmanians have been touched by this tragedy and one of our own, a young woman from Hobart, was wounded and I wish to extend my best wishes on behalf of all Tasmanian Members of Parliament for her recovery.
We flew the Dutch flag in our shared grief after the MH17 disaster, and tomorrow we will raise the French flag to show that we stand in solidarity with France and with all who have been affected by this act of terror.
Elise Archer, Speaker of the House of Assembly
