Moonah Arts Centre: Friday Nights Live @ MAC
Presents
Tim Jones and the Big Cheese – shuffles to bossas, show-tunes to funky grooves
Tim Jones, the tuba player with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, formed this band in 2012 as a vehicle for his melodic tuba playing and singing. Since then they have often played at MONA as part of the Jazz at MONA series.
Tim is joined by the Big Cheese, in his estimation the finest rhythm section in Hobart. With the many different instruments on offer they can supply a wide variety of sounds and styles. Toes tap and ears are surprised by the unusual yet highly effective combinations.
From shuffles to bossas, show-tunes to funky grooves, Tim and the Big Cheese supply the right ambience for any occasion.
