Tasmanians are encouraged to attend Diabetes Tasmania’s Living Well with Diabetes expo this Saturday to broaden their understanding of Australia’s fastest growing chronic disease.
The expo is designed to educate, engage and assist Tasmanians living with diabetes through expert knowledge and advice to help them live happy, healthy lives. Attendees can also hear from diabetes educators, dietitians and podiatrists in a series of forums to help with their day-to-day diabetes management.
The forums provided a great opportunity to bring health professionals to the local community to help them live well with their diabetes.
Diabetes is Australia’s fastest growing chronic disease, with around 275 people across the nation developing the condition every day.
In Tasmania alone, there are nearly 27,000 people living with diabetes and for every person diagnosed it is estimated there is another who has the disease but is undiagnosed.
