Rebecca White should explain why she is so opposed to vulnerable Tasmanians at risk of homelessness being provided with a roof over their heads.

The Liberal Government is absolutely committed to Tasmania’s Affordable Housing Strategy and to the Action Plan, which will deliver 900 new homes and housing for an additional 1600 vulnerable Tasmanians.

For Ms White’s benefit, the only changes in the Strategy and Action Plan on the Department’s website were to how the documents are presented; not to the content.

On the Community Housing Stock Leverage Program, which Labor opposes on purely ideological grounds, we have been working productively with community housing providers.

We expect to call for Expressions of Interest soon.

We are committed to investing $2 million over four years in this program and we are confident it will deliver additional housing for up to 150 vulnerable households – Tasmanians in need that Ms White would prefer to leave out in the cold.

What does Labor have against working with the community housing sector to provide more homes for Tasmanians?
