Treasurer Peter Gutwein has failed to identify where a required $120 million equity injection for Hydro Tasmania will come from.

Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said Mr Gutwein avoided the question this morning in Parliament.

“The Auditor General identified the need for a $120 million equity injection into Hydro but the Treasurer can’t say where it will come from,” Mr Bacon said.

“The Liberals have already milked TasNetworks on multiple occasions, including a $30 million transfer to Forestry Tasmania which broke a clear election commitment.

“TasNetworks already has a very high debt ratio so the Treasurer needs to explain exactly how Hydro will receive the equity injection.”
