Today’s NAB Business Survey shows once again Tasmania has the highest level of business confidence in the country.
The Survey says that confidence is at +8, nearly three times the national average of just +3. Business conditions are also the second best in the country at +14, just one point off being the best in the country and five points higher than the national average.
With 7,200 jobs created since the election and more people in work than at any other time in Tasmania’s history, it’s little wonder businesses are confident.
Add to that the record high retail turnover, the boom in our tourism and hospitality sector and our construction sector going from strength to strength it’s no wonder businesses are confident.
But there is still a lot more we can do. That’s why we are investing $315 million into a jobs package and $1.8 billion into infrastructure so that we can continue to support business confidence.
Today’s result is another clear sign that under the Hodgman Liberal Government’s long-term Plan, Tasmania is heading in the right direction.
