With more and more Australians living beyond their means and maxing out their credit cards, clothes-swapping is fast becoming the new big thing.

“The making of textiles is a hugely resource intensive and polluting practice.” According to Festival Director Lissa Villeneuve. “Add to that the growing burden of waste associated with unwanted and soiled clothes, several truckloads are disposed of each week at the South Hobart McRobies Gully landfill site alone, and you can see why swapping is such a good option “

“Clothes swapping has no environmental impact it is 100% sustainable” Says swap organiser Kate Fletcher.

Swapping clothes you don’t want or need any more for a fresh new wardrobe – all for free – is a great way to save money, get yourself some smart new threads, and make the world a better place.

“Bring your pre-loved clothing and accessories, and swap them for someone else’s unwanted treasure at Hobarts best Clothes Swap. It’s the perfect chance to jazz up your summer wardrobe for free, while helping to decrease the demand for new manufactured textiles” said Lissa Villeneuve, Director of the Sustainable Living Festival

“Don’t cost the earth and your wallet buying new – join us for a HUGE clothes swapping bonanza at SLF 2015” encourages Ms Villeneuve.
