I am contacting you in regards to the 11th Latin American Film Festival, organized by the Latin American Embassies in Canberra, which will be held in Tasmania from 3 – 23 October 2015 at The University of Tasmania (UTAS). This event is entirely free and all films are subtitled. For this reason, we would like as many people as possible to join us in our accessible celebration of Latin American film and culture.

This year we have an exciting program including a couple of productions that involve Australian artists – Australian actress Miranda Otto stars in the Brazilian film Reaching for the Moon, while Australian Director Andrew Tucker co-directs The Accordion’s Voyage. In light of this, we are interested in promoting this event and hoped your publication could publish an interview or article regarding the festival and its increasing connection to Australia.

As you may know, the Latin American Film Festival is the most exciting and important cultural event on the Latin American-Australian calendar and it will be brought to Tasmania for the very first time. In Tasmania, this event is organized by Ms. Jenny Forward and Mrs. Sonia Parra.

We wish to thank the kind generosity of the UTAS Community Friends and Networks Programme who are also sponsoring this event in Hobart by providing a venue and other support.
