Today I was delighted to represent the Premier Will Hodgman at the Stony Head Military Training area, near George Town, to support our Tasmanian (AAC) Australian Army Cadets.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is a proud and committed supporter of our servicemen and women and also of our veterans and their families.

As an extension of that support, the ADF Cadets in Tasmania have secured a $100,000 grant towards a broad range of items including two mobile “cook trailers’’.

These items will be unveiled today during a training/media/open day at Stony Head where cadets will be put through their paces as part of a week-long activities program.

The program is expected to involve more than 250 cadets in activities from abseiling, archery, rifle skills, company training and a formal parade.

We congratulate the junior and senior cadets, and the support from their families, as they undertake this important physical and personal training which will benefit them and the country for years to come.
