September is a great time of year to visit Hawaii – it’s one of the hottest and driest months of the year with temperatures averaging around 28 degrees during the day and dropping to approximately 23 degrees at night time.
The Hawaii Food and Wine Festival is held in Oahu from September 9 until 11 with a roster of more than 100 internationally-renowned master chefs, culinary personalities and wine and spirit producers showcasing their talents at various locations in Waikiki.
Saturday 19 September is the 63rd annual Waikiki Hoolaulea – Hawaii’s largest street party where thousands of people to take to Kalakaua Avenue for food, fun and entertainment. It’s a cultural festival with performances of Hawaiian music and hula schools plus Hawaiian crafts, flower leis and lots of traditional food on offer.
The theme turns floral on Saturday 26 September with the 69th annual Floral Parade featuring a colourful procession of horseback riders, floats covered with Hawaiian flowers, marching bands, Hawaiian music and hula galore.
