I was most interested, but appalled to see more of Ted Mead’s photos ( Rednecks hoon through the Tarkine ) illustrating the continued degrading of the Tarkine Coast.
Who would think that this is a National Heritage Listed area, known as the Western Tasmanian Aboriginal Cultural Landscape.
This vandalism occurs without any apparent sign of action by Tasmania Police to back the Parks & Wildlife staff to ensure the protection of the Arthur Pieman Conservation Area (APCA).
Until such time as users act responsibly, the area south of Temma should be closed off to all vehicles immediately, and a cessation of any track hardening or upgrading of this de-facto road.

I have observed gangs being formed for vigilante action and observed the tacit agreement of the authorities to take no action. There is in this state daily acts of social cannibalism, as goons burn each other’s houses, steal their neighbours’ cars and remove and destroy their ‘friends’’ wealth. They prey on each other with drugs and stolen goods and yet self-righteously claim no responsibility. This state would be a paradise, it’s the people who are the imperfection.
