This crisis off the coasts of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia heralds the start of the breakdown of civilization?
If these countries are willing to tow these boats back out to sea and wait for the passengers to die, then surely this is the end for our world.
It could be our turn one day if we let this happen.
They received some help on Thursday — water and food from the Thai military, which was alerted to their presence by The New York Times. But in the early hours of Friday morning, they were towed further out to sea by the navy, according to the families of passengers on the boat.
They said that they had been on the boat for three months, and that the boat’s captain and crew had abandoned them six days ago. Ten passengers died during the voyage, and their bodies were thrown overboard, the passengers said.
