Today I was very pleased to join Telstra representatives as they announced plans for their new NBN Centre of Excellence in Hobart.
The expansion will result in up to 100 additional employees from early 2015, taking Telstra’s Tasmanian workforce to over 1,000 people.
This is exciting news not just for the company but shows confidence in Hobart’s CBD, with the flow on benefits from the added workforce set to provide a boost to the local economy.
Today’s announcement is another positive sign for our economy and will build on the 3,000 new jobs created in Tasmania since the March State election.
The Liberal Government is committed to helping businesses to have the confidence to create jobs and grow the economy.
