Labor Leader Bryan Green and Tasmanian President Anne Urquhart today announced further moves to reinvigorate the party in Tasmania through a membership growth strategy.
“We are in a renewal phase as a party and an important part of that is building our membership base,” Mr Green said.
“Labor is listening to Tasmanians and it is clear they are worried about the impact of hard line Liberal and Green policies on our community.
“It is only the Labor Party that stands for jobs and fairness.
“We want to reach out to new members as we continue to take up the fight on behalf of Tasmanians against Tony Abbott and Will Hodgman.
Senator Urquhart said the growth strategy was being circulated to all Labor members.
“Every organisation has membership challenges and the Labor Party is no different,” Senator Urquart said.
“Labor’s growth strategy is about building a strong base of community activists to keep the Liberals to account.
“Labor understands that the policies of Tony Abbott and Will Hodgman are hurting Tasmanians, particularly in regional communities, and that’s why we are encouraging people across the entire State to join the party.”
