Be proud, share ideas and be filmed
6-11 October 2014 | various locations around Tasmania
Flourish wants to capture the community’s ideas on film on how to keep mentally healthy during this year’s Mental Health Week events across Tasmania.
Flourish is a not-for-profit organisation that works with mental health consumers to ensure that their rights, responsibilities and opinions are respected by policy makers, service providers and the Tasmanian Community.
The 2014 theme, Act-Belong-Commit, seeks to encourage people to be physically, mentally and socially active, get involved in the local community, and commit to new tasks and challenges. This statewide mental health consumer led activity will see Flourish Regional Advisory Group members learning new skills, engaging in their local communities, promoting positive mental health messages and capturing their local communities’ act- belong- commit statements via film at various Mental Health Week events and activities during Mental Health Week 2014.
Miranda Ashby, Executive Officer says “Encouraging people to have a say on how to keep mentally healthy helps fight stigma surrounding mental health issues, as everyone needs to look after their mental health”.
