The Liberal Government has very serious questions to answer over the hastily compiled interim report stemming from Guy Barnett’s Triabunna committee.
Labor Leader Bryan Green says the roles of the Parliament and the Government have been blurred.
“We know Cabinet met late on Tuesday and we know a meeting of the parliamentary committee was held early on Wednesday morning,” Mr Green said.
“The Government must prove the report is the work of the committee, not a product of Cabinet.
“Why did a “government spokeswoman” tell the Mercury that the report would be released in the near future and not a member of the committee. That’s a very unusual occurrence.
“The Liberals cannot interfere with the instruments of Parliament for their own political advantage.
“The Government does not have to wait until the report is tabled on Tuesday to reveal its intentions for Triabunna.
“This saga has gone on long enough.”
