The Liberal Government has been brought undone by its arrogance and incompetence.
The Legislative Council has sent a strong message that it will not be bullied into supporting the Government’s flawed plan to cut the wages of public sector workers.
Labor Leader, Bryan Green, said the Liberals had tried to ram its legislation through with threats and intimidation.
“Legislative Councillors have quite rightly told the Government to do what it should have done from the start: negotiate in good faith with its workforce,” Mr Green said.
“Extraordinarily, the Government has said it would sooner break its promise to protect frontline workers than negotiate in good faith with public sector unions.
“If the Liberals maintain their arrogant attitude and follow through with their threats they will be held solely accountable for their actions.
“This is an arrogant government that has been brought undone by its own incompetence.”
