Manager of Government Business Michael Ferguson has again bungled parliamentary process by unnecessarily adjourning the lower house for a 90-minute break … to promptly adjourn the session.

“Michael Ferguson arrogantly tried to ride roughshod over the Legislative Council to force a vote on the Liberals’ forest legislation,” Manager of Opposition Business David Llewellyn said.

“He had suspended the lower house from 6pm until at least 7.30pm.

“But he failed to realise that the Upper House would not be bullied.

“Not for the first time this week Mr Ferguson has been left red faced.

“This botched attempt to bully both houses of parliament has not only cost time but money.

“Mr Ferguson has obviously not learned his lesson on wasting money after this week paying back his $800 luxury taxi fare.”
