The latest national economic report show confidence is building in Tasmania under the Liberal Government.
The Property Council of Australian-ANZ Economic Update shows Tasmania’s commercial tourism property owners are the most confident in the country.
In the year ahead, tourism construction expectations are the highest and show the strongest growth in the country.
Tasmania is one of two jurisdictions with a growing positive outlook in the property industry for coming months and growth in future work expectations for the property sector are the strongest in the country.
The indicators also show growing confidence in Tasmania’s property and tourism industries.
These are signs Tasmania is already on the path to a better future and the Liberal Government has already taken significant steps delivering our long term plan for the state.
Tourism initiatives such as our plan to make Tasmania the environment tourism capital of the world will help deliver our vision to grow visitor numbers to 1.5 million by 2020, which the industry says will create 8,000 new jobs.
We are supporting the property sector by tearing down the barriers which, under Labor and the Greens, stifled development.
Liberal Government initiatives such as the headworks holiday and reduction in red and green tape will help businesses grow and see this positive trend continue.
While this report is welcome news, we know there is still a lot of work to be done. We are committed to delivering the changes Tasmanians voted for to rebuild our economy and back our competitive strengths to tackle the jobs crisis.
