The expansion of Australia’s largest tile company to Tasmania is a further sign of renewed confidence in the Tasmanian economy.
The opening of Beaumont Tiles in Hobart will create six jobs, with a second store opening in Launceston soon to create further job opportunities.
It will also generate downstream business, with local family business Total Freight Solutions set to manage stock storage and state-wide freight services.
This national company is entering the Tasmanian market because they see a bright future here.
Retail confidence has grown, with April retail trade in Tasmania at $462.6 million, almost 10 per cent higher than the same time in 2013.
While there is still some way to go, the signs are positive for Tasmania.
The Liberal Government is focussed on rebuilding the economy and creating jobs.
