The Government has serious questions to answer over the appointment of the executive commissioner of the Planning Reform Taskforce, Labor Leader Bryan Green said today.
“The Premier today tied himself in knots of contradiction on how he filled the position,” Mr Green said.
“When asked how many applications had been received for the executive commissioner position Mr Hodgman said there had been 71.
“However it was later revealed by Labor that these applications were in response to an advertisement for general positions on the taskforce.
“So to trust Mr Hodgman’s word it means he has appointed a person to a salary of almost $200,000 based solely on an application for a general taskforce position that contained no mention of remuneration.
“The Premier must clarify if the executive position was specifically advertised.
“His story on the process simply doesn’t add up.
“In the interests of transparency Mr Hodgman needs to spell out a clear and truthful timeline on the appointment.”
