Labor Leader Bryan Green said his team is ready to stand side by side with small business in opposition.

Attending the Independent Retailers Conference at Wrest Point, Mr Green said he’s ready to work hard in the best interests of smaller operators.

“Of course Labor backs in big projects like the Myer site redevelopment,” Mr Green said.

“In Government Labor worked closely with the developer to support the project, including providing headworks relief.

“But it is important to engage with the small business community as well.”

Mr Green said attending today’s conference was part of the process of Tasmanian Labor re-engaging with the community.

“To be a strong opposition and viable alternative government, it is important to be listening to small business leaders today to hear their thoughts, ambitions and concerns,” Mr Green said.

“Just like we have been doing with ALP members, unions, businesses and community groups, Labor will listen and learn.”
