Tasmania’s Raw Nerve Films now Screening On ABC2
‘Confessions of a Date-a-holic’ behind the scenes
3 young filmmaking teams from Tasmania will have their first films screen on ABC2, giving them an amazing platform to show their screen making skills to the nation. The films have been made through the Raw Nerve program, a long-standing joint initiative between Screen Australia and the Screen Network. ABC TV came on board for the first time in 2014.
These 3 films, along with 13 others from around the country, will screen on ABC2 at 9.20pm every Friday night for 16 weeks from Friday 4 April to Friday 18 July 2014 exploring the theme ‘First Date, Worst Date’
Young Producer, Murray Alford, said “It’s unbelievable that a film so early in my career will get a national broadcast. The whole experience from beginning to end has been fantastic. I’ve been mentored by experienced film practitioners and built strong connections with my peers. The director and I are now working on a proposal for a TV series together. ”
Raw Nerve is delivered across Australia annually and is the leading program delivering filmmaking opportunities to entry-level filmmakers. The program provides entry-level filmmakers with the training, mentors, resources and financial assistance to make their first low budget short film in a real industry environment. It spans the complete filmmaking process from concept and script development though to post-production and marketing bringing together hundreds of emerging talent to make up the cast and crew of each production around the country.
The films will be between 5 and 7 minutes and can be documentary, comedy or drama with the most successful projects screened nationally on ABC2 TV.
