How about this TasWater!

Posted on

TasWater wants to give developers a waiver on headworks fees ( TT here ).

Well how about this TasWater!

Until people who have reticulated water in Tasmania have assurance there is no lead, mercury etc in their supply ( or TasWater supply and fit functioning household rainwater tanks and truck in water during drought ) townships such as Winnaleah, Ringarooma, Pioneer, Avoca and Whitemark on Flinders Island should have no water charges.

Until people no longer have to boil their tap water to get the ecoli level down. The list is long according to the DHHS –

Branxholm
Cornwall
Derby
Ellendale
Franklin (Jacksons Rd only)
Fingal
Gladstone
Gormanston
Gretna
Herrick
Judbury
Lady Barron
Legerwood
Mathinna
Mole Creek
Mountain River
Pioneer – Public Health Alert – Do Not Consume
Ringarooma
Rossarden
Whitemark – Public Health Alert – Do Not Consume
Winnaleah

They should have no water charges.

TasWater has no licence to give development multi-million dollar concessions until they can supply potable water to customers with a reticulated supply.

I am in some ways lucky in that I have ‘trickle’ town water, not pressure but a trickle supply to a tank when those down the valley aren’t showering, washing clothes or the car.

And TasWater give me a 10% discount for the privilege.
