Independent candidate for Denison is seeking commitments from the current three political party leaders to pledge that they will deliver promises made during the election campaign.

Time and time again Tasmanians are made promises during an election period and those promises seem to change after the election.

Our political leaders must be held accountable and put on notice to deliver or honourably resign as party leaders for misrepresenting the Tasmanian public should they fail to deliver.

The past weeks of electioneering Tasmanians have been subjected to a range of promises that have already been questioned.

If our political leaders have made these promises and believe they can deliver then it’s time for them to put up or shut up and stop making promises they cannot deliver.

Tasmanians are tired of false promises and should not have to wait 4 years to voice their disappointment. I challenge the Labor, Liberal and Greens leader to make a pledge on the lines that:

“As the current leader of the political party I lead, I pledge that I will deliver the promises made to the Tasmanian public prior and during the to the 2014 Tasmanian State election campaign.

I pledge that I will deliver these promises if I am in a position to do so as Premier of Tasmania or part of the Tasmanian Government that is able to do so.

Should at any time after the election I fail to pursue the election promise’s and fail to deliver them in the proposed timeframe, the most honest and honourable thing to do for misleading the Tasmanian public would be to resign as party leader”

If our political leaders are serious about their commitments then making a leaders pledge prior to March 15th should not be of concern.

As a candidate for Denison I pledge that if I am elected and fail to deliver any promises I have made I will resign from parliament as it would be the most honourable thing to do for misleading the Tasmanian public.

My pledge will be posted on my web page and political face book page.
