Lyons Liberal candidate Guy Barnett and Garry Ivory nephew of Teddy Sheean have expressed appreciation for the Liberal’s commitment to recognise the memory of Teddy Sheean.
We have always believed he should be properly recognised and this is one way to achieve this objective.
It is terrific news.
Teddy deserves a Victoria Cross in our view and this initiative is excellent they said.
The Teddy Sheean Memorial Trust will provide grants for the state’s many ex-service clubs to help them to continue to provide fellowship and support for those who served. A Liberal majority government will provide $100,000 a year for three years for grants to ex-service clubs.
Mr Barnett said a Liberal majority government would deliver great support to our veteran community.
Mr Barnett kick-started the Teddy Sheean for VC campaign seven years ago when he was a Senator for Tasmania and has been working with Garry Ivory and the family for this cause.
