With just under a week to go before Hobart plays host to the highly anticipated Spiegeltent, presented by
Ten Days, excitement is building around the FREE opening night of fine food and entertainment on
Thursday, 6 March 2014 from 5pm.
The free opening night extravaganza will play host to a variety of roving entertainment, with the likes of
jazz trio Les Coqs Incroyables, Italian magician David Key, Tasmanian-born illusionist and fire breather
Bodane Hatten, Erth’s roving dinosaurs, Tasmanian DJ Warren Hankey, five-piece Launceston band The
Embers, Hot Dub Time Machine as well as some sneak preview performances from the cast of Cantina.
Located outside the velvet and mirror adorned Spiegeltent, will be The Outdoor Lounge, which will
showcase fine Tasmanian produce and beverages, including a pop-up restaurant by Smolt, delicious
burgers from Tasman Quartermasters, Written on Tea, Sweet Envy, Greek cuisine by the Estia Festival, Big
Bessie, Domaine A, Jansz, Cascade and Clover Hill.
For the adults, selected members from the internationally acclaimed cast of Cantina will be on hand with
their daring and extraordinary displays of acrobatics and contortionism, while Erth’s roving dinosaurs will
be sure to mesmerise the kids.
DJ Tom Loud from Hot Dub Time Machine will then treat Tasmanians to a free audio-visual super party
inside the Spiegeltent at 8pm, featuring the best songs ever from the past 60 years in the world’s first
time travelling dance party.
This is the chance of a lifetime to experience these acts for free as well as soak up the Spiegeltent
