Last month Kate Miller-Heidke announced a national tour for her 4th album and her first independent release, ‘O Vertigo!’, to be released in March next year. Heavenly Sounds is pleased to announce Kate will perform a special show at St David’s Cathedral, Hobart on Friday 28 March 2014. Tickets for this show go on sale this Friday November 15th at 9.00am through Ticketek.
Of her Heavenly Sounds show for Hobart fans Kate said today, “Hobart is one of my favourite places in the world, and the Heavenly Sounds concept is special and magical. Architecture and music work together in amazing ways. There’s nothing quite like making music in a beautiful cathedral. I can’t wait!”
The singer-songwriter, renowned for her direct interaction with her fans, is using the direct-to-fan platform PledgeMusic to fund the recording of the album. Her campaign has broken records and achieved its target in 3 days, making it both the fastest and all-round most successful direct-to-fan campaign by an Australian artist to date.
Fans can get a sneak preview of the Heavenly Sounds experience by pre-ordering Kate’s new album through PledgeMusic. With every pledge to Kate Miller-Heidke’s ‘O Vertigo!’ campaign, fans instantly receive a download of a free 11-track live album recorded during Kate’s ‘Heavenly Sounds’ shows earlier in the year. All pledgers will also receive a download of the new album ‘O Vertigo!’ on release day, currently expected to be 14 March 2014.
Although the campaign has achieved and even exceeded its initial target, there are still lots of exciting perks on offer. Beyond the basic pledges which pre-order the album, and a huge array of merchandise, Kate is also offering some unique experiences, including your name in the liner notes, happy birthday phone calls, acoustic house gigs, and the chance to be on the guest list for every Kate Miller-Heidke show for life. In addition to funding the recording of the album, 5% of everything raised will go to the WWF (World Wildlife Fund for Nature) to support their work to save the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.
On her tour throughout March-April 2014, Kate’s set list will include brand new songs from ‘O Vertigo!’ as well as many favourites from her full body of work. These shows are all-ages (although under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the Brisbane show). Accompanying Kate will be long-term collaborator Keir Nuttall on guitar, along with musical freak-genius John Rodgers on violin and piano.
