December 2: Our World student photo exhibition
In early September, nine high school students from four high schools in the Kingborough Council region began a photojournalism workshop under the Kingborough Council’s Urban Arts program. The year 9 students from Taroona High School, St Aloysius Catholic College, Calvin Christian School and Woodbridge District High School undertook a photographic documentation of their world over a period of three months, with the guidance of professional photojournalist, Rob Walls.
The participants, are displaying their work in an exhibition called “Our World”, in a pop-up gallery at Shop 64, Channel Court, Kingston opening on Monday, December 2, at 6pm and running through to December 12.
The project has been generously supported by Fujifilm Australia, who provided cameras and print materials. Printing of the high quality enlargements was donated by Stallards Camera House in Hobart and Channel Court Shopping Centre provided the gallery space.
