The Other Talk Forum for Parents

Posted on

One of Australia’s leading drug and alcohol experts is coming to Hobart for this very important forum. We thought this may be relevant for your what’s on/community events:

At some point we have all sat down with our parents for ‘the talk’. It’s not always easy, but learning about sex is an important conversation that every parent and child should have. The Other Talk is about Australian families talking openly about alcohol and other drugs. Many parents fear The Other Talk because it may raise questions that they feel ill-equipped to answer.

The Australian Drug Foundation invites parents to come along to this forum to hear our National Policy Manager, Geoff Munro, discuss how to talk to your children about alcohol and other drugs and protect them from associated harms.

Date: Wednesday 23 October, 2013
Time: 7pm to 8.30pm
Venue: Tasmanian Hockey Centre, Function Centre, 19 Bell Street, New Town TAS
RSVP: Registration is required. Contact Mark Nash at mark.nash@adf.org.au or 0430 444 184

This Forum is brought to you by the Australian Drug Foundation’s Good Sports Program, working with community sporting clubs across Tasmania to reduce risky drinking.
