Greetings friends of Despard Gallery, please see your invitation to Remnants of the Earth an exhibition in tandem.
Annette Mcgown and Janelle Mendham exhibited together in 2011 – the resulting show was sensational.
Annette’s powerful oils of hydro dam weirs with tumultuous volumes of water are powerful with heavily impasto surfaces
capturing the raw energy of the industrial combined with the man made.
Janelle’s drawings are a foil for her sculptures-earth tones used for the sentinel series of reclining deer with foliage antlers –
to unicorn sculpture with a glass horn – Bone Mother is fabulous, constructed antlers wood mounted stand proud against Annette’s oils.
