Hello, my name is Jacqui Lambie and I am a born and bred Tasmanian from the North West Coast.
I feel blessed that I have two sons aged 19 and 22 who still reside within Tasmania.
I am former soldier of the Australian Army, where I spent over a decade training and serving my country.
My Military background is in Transport Management and Military Policing.
I would like be given an opportunity once again to serve my country, but my home state of Tasmania will take priority first and foremost.
If I am elected I will be the first Senator that will be delegated the portfolio of “Special Minister for Tasmania”, because Clive Palmer believes like I do that Tasmania and its Islands have been left of the national political agenda for far too long.
I am a highly active member of my community, I am a Rotarian fundraiser, Membership, Events and Promotions Ambassador for the Burnie Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a lobbyist for the Country Women’s Association Social Impact Fact Finding Team.
(Most recent success CWA – Mission Australia’s U-Turn Program, funding reinstated) (More than doubled the Burnie Chamber of Commerce and Industry membership within 4 months)
I am honoured to be an Advocate for Australian War Veterans and Injured Defence personnel.
(Most recent success, the Palmer United Party 7th August 2013 released the largest comprehensive Veterans Affairs Policy ever undertaken).
Primary Policy Interests, Tasmania, Unemployment, National Security, Seniors and old age pensioners, the underprivileged, our youth (13 – 21), small business and Veterans Affairs.
The Palmer United Party will provide 400 million towards freight and passenger services over Bass Straight and is committed to finding a way around the issues currently holding us to ranson on the National Highway debate.
We will increase the old age pension rate by 20% – ($220.00 extra for couples and $150.00 for singles a fortnight).
We will increase the Disability Pension rate by 20%, to help lighten the load for those already suffering.
Palmer United Party will provide 80 billion additional funding for Health across Australia and will make such funding available directly to our hospitals.
We will inject an extra $20 billion into the education system within our first 3 years of government. We know that educating our children to higher standards will in return become Australia’s most valuable asset well into the future.
The Australia United Party will give an immediate Duty off Care to the men and women that have been physically or psychologically damaged because of Military service that they received by placing their lives on the line for our country. These funds will be taken from the Foreign Aid budget which currently stands at 5.2 bill, because we believe in looking after our own backyard first.
We will encourage the use of some of the mineral resource wealth of Western Australia and Queensland to support downstream Manufacturing into Tasmania. This will create jobs and increase our exports out of Tasmania. We know that higher export revenue has the ability to circulate onto better education, health services and a higher standard of living for all Tasmanians.
“I promise all Tasmanians that I will give all that it takes to put Tasmania back on the map because I know personally that I have the ability to deliver on that”.
Clive Palmer – 08 July 2013
“The Palmer United Party will have a strong focus on Tasmania following years of neglect by the Federal Government. For far too long Tasmania has been the forgotten state.”
Jacqui Lambie
Palmer United Party Candidate Tasmania Senate Team Leader.
