This is definitely an old-fashioned sort of chardonnay and probably not for everyone, but I love it.
Big, bold buttery and oaky flavours insinuate themselves on the bouquet and then flow seamlessly onto the palate.
It weighs in at a fairly hefty 13.5 per cent alcohol, which you’d expect from fruit allowed to reach this sort of ripeness.
Take care with the food matching because its richness will smother many lighter dishes such as simple grilled fish. Look for something more substantial, such as chillimudcrab.
