Her single is called Blindside and perhaps Rachel Costanzo has caught us on the Blindside i.e. unawares, with the debut of her amazing voice and talent.
The name ‘Costanzo’ means steadfast and Melbourne teenager Rachel Costanzo is definitely steadfast in her commitment to her musical career. The Melbourne teenager is already gaining great notice with her self penned song, the catchy, Blindside presently doing great things on youtube.
I had the opportunity to speak to Rachel last week about her iTune single ‘Blindside’ and her upcoming EP.
Although Rachel has never been to Tasmania she would love to visit one day and perhaps with her burgeoning career that visit might be sooner rather than later and with more songs planned for release towards the end of this year or early next year a tour can’t be too far in the future.
The video for Blindside was produced by Epic films and has hints of like of Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark with a seasoning of Surrealism.
The video shows a number of doors being opened each containing a different world! including a party world.
Rachel is in high demand having performed at the Melbourne teen expo at the Melbourne showgrounds last Thursday, Friday and Saturday and was the opening act for Timomatic.
Rachel also has some acting under her belt playing school soccer captain and bully, Amber King on Neighbours.
And it hasn’t only been on the local scene that Rachel has been creating waves, she has also visited the US performing in the Hollywood ‘Immersive’ programs ( based in LA the program gives instruction with professionals in the industry and unique opportunities for networking) in ‘Sunset Boulevard’ and working with Eva Mendes.
Rachel hopes to take a gap year after she completes her HSC this year and concentrate on her music. At the moment she keeps up her musical interests with her studies at school and writing, piano guitar and voice lessons.
