RACT Insurance is urging all policy holders affected by yesterday’s strong winds in
southern Tasmania to call 13 27 22 to lodge a claim as soon as possible.

RACT Insurance CEO Trent Sayers said the organisation was doing everything it could
to make the process as simple as possible for those affected.

“The sooner customers lodge their claims, the sooner we can go about assessing and
fixing the damage caused by the conditions,” Mr Sayers said.

“As soon as it is safe to do so, we will have staff on the ground to help assess the
damage to policy holders’ properties.”

With 35 claims at an estimated cost of $65,000 already lodged, Mr Sayers said he
expected this number to rise significantly once the full extent of the strong winds had
become clear.

“It is still unclear exactly how many homes and properties have been damaged,” Mr
Sayers said.

“We urge anyone affected to call us as soon as possible.”

People who think their property may be unsafe due to damage caused by the conditions
are encouraged to contact RACT Insurance on 13 27 22.
