Claims by former Labor minister David Llewellyn that he would not support a power sharing agreement with the Greens are fanciful, said Guy Barnett, State Lyons Liberal Candidate today.
“Mr Llewellyn said soon after the 2010 election where he was ousted from Parliament, that Premier Bartlett should seriously consider a “robust discussion” with the Greens regarding a power sharing arrangement. On top of this Mr Llewellyn signed his name and was party to the Labor/Green accord of 1989 – 1992, some of the darkest days in Tasmania’s economic history.
“The Labor/Green accord from 1989-1992 and the past few years will be noted in history as some of the worst economic times ever, he said.
“Mr Llewellyn’s claims that he won’t be party to a power sharing agreement with the Greens can’t be believed.
“I am prepared to take on Mr Llewellyn and any Labor MP’s or candidates because they are tied at the hip to the Greens and have done great damage to the economy and job prospects for young Tasmanians. Quite simply, the Greens are calling the shots in Tasmania,” he concluded.
