“The Greens care about all Australians, regardless of their sexuality, and that’s why we will keep standing up for the LGBTI community until we achieve equality,” Senator Peter Whish-Wilson said.

A Greens television commercial ( http://www.filesnack.com/files/c7cmyhhr ), detailing the strong community support for marriage equality has aired nationally for the first time today.

“The Greens have a long and proud history of standing up for gay and lesbian Australians,” Senator Whish-Wilson continued.

“This TV commercial sends a strong message to members of Tasmania’s Upper House.

“Some MLCs need to realise they are behind the times on marriage equality and should be representing community support for reform,” he concluded.

Tasmanian Gay and Lesbian Rights Group spokesperson, Rodney Croome, welcomed the Greens TV commercial in a statement early today.
