Quilts – Counterpane’s of Comfort and Cultural Significance
‘Every stitch tells a story’ and the show QUILTS 1700 – 1945 will be a triumph for those who worked the historical threads of our society. From 15th June – 22nd September 2013 at the Queensland Art Gallery (QAGOMA) the show will explore over 200 years of British quilt making, via significant examples on loan from the V & A Museum at London. In addition that rare, fragile and wonderful ‘Australian textile’ known as The Rajah Quilt will also be on show.
