The Premier, Lara Giddings, today acknowleged the release of the latest EMRS poll.
“My primary focus is on handing down the State Budget this Thursday, which will deliver on the government’s agenda of Jobs, People and Opportunities,” Ms Giddings said.
“The EMRS poll shows a large proportion of voters remain undecided with 10 months to go before the next state election.
“This shows that people are starting to see through the shallow spin, hollow rhetoric and destructive negativity of Will Hodgman and the Liberal Party.
“Tasmanians are demanding more from the Liberal Opposition and this year’s alternative Budget will be a major test of their credibility.
“That is contrasted with a Government that is tackling Tasmania’s challenges head-on and has a clear plan to create jobs and opportunities for the future.
“We have delivered support and certainty to regional communities through the Tasmanian Forest Agreement and we are diversifying the economy and capitalising on our natural strengths through initiatives like irrigation and our innovation and investment fund.
“And we are fostering a stronger and more compassionate society by looking after Tasmanians in need and delivering landmark reforms like the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Meanwhile Mr Hodgman contuines to believe the state ‘need not and could not afford to look after everyone’.”
