The economic damage in Braddon caused by Labor and the Greens is unacceptable according to Shadow Minister for Industry Sophie Mirabella.
Ms Mirabella this morning attended an industry roundtable in Devonport and toured businesses across North-West Tasmania.
“Local businesses are slugged with the legacy of Labor/Green governments at both a State and Federal level,” Ms Mirabella said.
“Too much regulation, too many taxes are sending jobs offshore and preventing employment growth
Ms Mirabella, also Shadow Minister for Innovation and Science, said Tasmania was yearning for new direction.
“Tasmanians want and deserve a better future with economic growth and job security,” she said.
“I understand the betrayal that local people feel about Labor member Sid Sidebottom who has sold out local jobs to suck up to the greens.”
Senator for Tasmania Richard Colbeck said the Liberal Party had a vision to grow the economy, not spend hundreds of millions of dollars to shut industry down as Labor and the Greens have done to the Forest Industry.
Braddon Candidate, Brett Whiteley said it was clear local business had lost all confidence in the government.
“They eagerly await confidence. They want government to get out of the way and let them realise this region’s amazing potential,” he said.
