With an estimated 500 people living with diabetes on the Tasman Peninsula, Diabetes
Tasmania is providing replacement blood glucose monitors, testing strips and lancets to
those who have lost their own in the bushfires.
Diabetes Tasmania Acting CEO Leanne Clark said the organisation had already sent supplies
to fire affected communities over the weekend and had been in touch with local pharmacies
to ensure they had diabetes medication and supplies in stock.
Anyone residing in bushfire affected areas in need of diabetes equipment or medication are
advised supplies are available at their local pharmacy or nearest Refuge Centre, or by calling
