From page to stage next week @ the Lark

We have a special Conversations @ the Lark next week (Wednesday, 28 November) with actors Sean Monro and Jane Longhurst reading from the recently launched short story anthology Deep South. This great collection celebrates the heritage of Tasmanian fiction – from Marcus Clarke and Theresa Tasmania through to Rohan Wilson and Rachael Treasure.

The readings on Wednesday night will transport you back to the times and places covered in the stories.

Deep South is edited by Ralph Crane and Danielle Wood, who will be there to talk about the book. Some of the authors with stories in the anthology, including Adrienne Eberhard, who wrote the story Orange Bathers, will also be there.

Danielle Wood is the author of the Vogel-winning The Alphabet of Light and Dark, Rosie Little’s Cautionary Tales for Girls and Housewife Superstar: The Very Best of Marjorie Bligh. She wrote the short story None of the Above, which appears in Deep South. Ralph Crane is Professor of English at UTAS and the author or editor of 16 academic books.

With Deep South they have brought together the first collection of Tasmanian short fiction. The anthology includes 24 stories covering the 19th century to the present day.

This will be a night of great listening and talking, so come along and enjoy great company and the fine hospitality of the Lark.
