Respect The Mountain is surprised and delighted to have had its Facebook page recognized as a threat by the cable car proponents, who this week attempted to commandeer the name and logo of our page.
However, while the tactic may appeal to those who struggle to explain why a cable car is required, it does not sit well with those of us who want others to better appreciate the value of Mt Wellington.
It is a disappointing escalation of a media campaign that we hope does not set the tone for future public discourse.
