Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council of Tasmania hosts Inaugural Quiz Night for Drug Action Week
The Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council (ATDC) is hosting a quiz night to raise awareness of the harms associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs, and to increase community participation in Drug Action Week 2012.
The inaugural quiz night will be held at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania on Wednesday 20th June. Doors will open from 5.45pm for a 6pm start.
Quiz Night organiser, Amanda Street from the ATDC said that the quiz night promised to be a great night out. “Tickets are just $15 per person and, thanks to the generosity of local businesses in the community, we have some fantastic prizes to be won. We will also be auctioning a number of items, including a signed 2012 Hawthorn Football Club Guernsey and a signed Tasmanian Tigers cricket bat, amongst other things. ” she said.
This year the team’s fundraising efforts are directed towards funding future Drug Action Week activities.
Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council, CEO Jann Smith said “We acknowledge the importance of raising the awareness of harms associated with alcohol, tobacco and other drug misuse in the community and also want to recognise the efforts of workers in the ATOD sector that work with the community on a daily basis. The quiz night will give people in our community an opportunity to come together with the ATOD sector for a fun night of trivia and games.”
Tickets for the quiz night are selling fast. People interested in attending should contact Amanda Street on 6224 7780 or email [email protected].
