Garry Bailey today announced his resignation as ABC Drive presenter in Northern Tasmania. The former editor of the Mercury has been presenting the program since the start of 2012.

“I don’t believe I can reach the standards required of me. I am at heart a writer, not a broadcaster. The ABC has been incredibly supportive and encouraging throughout, particularly my colleagues in Launceston.” Garry said on making the announcement.

Local Content Manager Joce Nettlefold thanked Garry Bailey for his hard work with the Drive progam and his contribution to the team.

Hillary Burden will present Drive on ABC Northern Tasmania for the next few months.
