Isobelle Carmody is well established at the forefront of fantasy writing and illustrating in Australia, beginning her work on the highly acclaimed Obernewtyn Chronicles at the age of fourteen. Visit Isobelle Carmody’s website here. Prizes for her more than 25 books include the CBC Book of the Year Award, Children’s Literature Peace Prize, and a string of Aurealis Awards. The Legend of Little Fur was her first series for younger readers, illustrated with her own pen and ink drawings. The Red Wind won the CBC Book of the Year in 2011 in the Younger Readers’ Category and she is currently working on the next book in this series, The Cloud Road. Recently Isobelle contributed to and edited, with Nan McNab, a collection of classic fairy tales re-worked into contemporary fantasy, Tales From The Tower: The Wilful Eye, with a second volume to follow. The Sending, book six of Carmody’s Obernewtyn Chronicles, was published in 2011. Metro Winds, a short story collection, is Isobelle’s most recent work which will be published in May.

Victorian writer Rosie Borella re-wrote the classic fairy tale, The Snow Queen, in Tales from the Tower: The Wilful Eye. Her novel Searching for a Heart will be published by Allen & Unwin in 2013 and she is finalising work on an eco-thriller.
