Tarkine National Coalition has welcomed news today that a large investor has withdrawn it’s interest in a tin mining project in the Tarkine.
Terry Long of the Tasmanian Minerals Council on ABC Radio this morning confirmed that a major investor had walked away from the project.
“The Tarkine is an area that must be preserved, and we welcome this recognition that investing is new mines in the Tarkine is not good business”, said Tarkine National Coalition spokesperson Scott Jordan.
Scott will be attending the Tasmanian Minerals Council Business Forum in Launceston today and will be available for comment after 3pm.
