Greens Member for Bass, Kim Booth MP, today welcomed the news that the Resource Management and Planning Appeal Tribunal had upheld the planning appeal lodged against the proposed construction of a Linc Hub and Child and Family Centre on the site of Regent Square at George Town.
“This decision is a win for the local community,” Mr Booth said.
“The people of George Town rallied together from the beginning to oppose this project going ahead on a parcel of land with significant historical value to their community.”
“The Child and Family Centre, included in the proposal for Regent Square, was always welcomed by the community in George Town, and it is imperative that this element of the original proposal be constructed at a suitable location near like services.”
