The Tasmanian Greens said that they would be happy to answer questions in Parliament on Greens policies, on the condition that the Liberals would be happy to answer questions on Liberal policy.

Greens Leader Nick McKim MP accused Liberal Leader Will Hodgman MP of trying to have it both ways, to avoid scrutiny of his party’s policy vacuum.

“What a hypocrite Mr Hodgman is,” Mr McKim said.

“If Mr Hodgman wants to question the Greens on our policies then he would surely be prepared to open himself up to the same scrutiny, but he is not.”

“I am happy to answer questions on Greens issues, but the Speaker has rightly ruled them out of order.”

“If Mr Hodgman wants to pursue this he should write to the Speaker, but it will have to be a level playing field not a one way street.”

“There is only one party that avoids scrutiny during Question Time, and that is the Liberals.”
