Despard Gallery invite you to the launch of “new art 2012” with three new artists combining for a very distinctive show.
Maeve Woods recent survey exhibition at the Carnegie Gallery was sensational, her distinctive colourful paintings are an excellent foil for the powerful sculptures of Janelle Mendham who uses mussel shells, plaster, kangaroo fur and steel in their construction. The industrial might of the Hydro Devils Gate Dam were inspirational for Annette MacGown’s series of impasto surface paintings that capture the power of cascading water in a series of five oils.
